Website with Collection Portal for West-Brabant Archive

The joint arrangement West-Brabant Archive preserves and manages both the paper and digital archives of the affiliated municipalities of Bergen op Zoom, Etten-Leur, Halderberge, Moerdijk, Roosendaal, Rucphen, Steenbergen, Woensdrecht, and Zundert. Through www.westbrabantsarchief.nl, public documents are made available to the public. DEVENTit will realize a renewed version of this website. Part of this website is an Atlantis Collection Portal, which is a search environment that makes collections from external systems searchable together. In the case of West-Brabant Archive, this concerns the collection management system Memorix and e-Depot Preservica. For the public, a single integrated environment will soon be created where these collections can be searched and where various types of requests will be processed.

For this project, a proof-of-concept environment has been set up, which West-Brabant Archive has already been able to test with the collection portal. From this testing phase, the assignment has been given for a production environment and a completely new website. IIIF is used for the exchange of visual material. This project is expected to be completed in the course of 2024.

Updated inserts

In the past year, DEVENTit has renewed the promotional material. In addition to a completely new brochure, several inserts have also been updated. Inserts are concise brochures with in-depth information about a product or theme. The Atlantis brochure provides general information about Atlantis, while these inserts provide further details. Review of Atlantis Collection Management Lite

At the beginning of 2023, a new product was added to the product range of Atlantis. This is Atlantis Collection Management Lite. This renewed licensing model is aimed at small museums and heritage organizations and offers a complete and professional collection management system at low costs. Thanks to Atlantis Collection Management Lite, Atlantis has been able to assist various smaller museums and historical associations in professionally managing collections and applying Linked Open Data.

In recent years, many parties from different heritage sectors have found their way to Atlantis. With the addition of Lite, Atlantis now offers a suitable solution for small, medium-sized, and large organizations.

Atlantis Collection Management for Royal Van Oord

Royal Van Oord is a Dutch family business and one of the largest maritime contractors with projects worldwide. Van Oord has extensive experience in dredging, land reclamation, the construction of maritime infrastructure, coastal and bank protection, offshore, and offshore wind. The headquarters of this company is located in Rotterdam.

Van Oord possesses a corporate historical collection. With 150 years of experience in hydraulic engineering contracting, this collection is rich in historical information. The collection consists of documents related to the history of Van Oord’s operations, such as the specifications and completion certificate of the Afsluitdijk, plans for the Delta Works, and other documentation of projects around the world. In addition, publications, objects, and more than 20,000 photos and other visual material are also part of the collection.

For the management and registration of the corporate archive, Atlantis was chosen. This project has recently been completed, and Atlantis has been put into use.
