Information at Sea, the conference for information professionals in Flanders, is an event where you can gain knowledge, inspire each other, and network. This year, we will be here with our booth to provide visitors with the necessary information and share knowledge with one another. This event will take place on October 19 and 20 in Ostend (BE).

The theme of Information at Sea 2023 is Impact: Are we making a difference? Make a difference! This theme delves deeper into the societal role of our sector and how we can keep it as relevant as possible for the ever-evolving society. What difference are we making and how can we make that difference? This includes sessions on community, participation, diversity, decolonization, an inclusive and equitable society, ethical practices, sustainability, self-development, user-centered work, social work, the impact of new technologies on our sector and community, the importance of evaluating, measuring, and parameters, and so on.

At our booth, you will learn more about Atlantis as an archive and collection management system. We have expertise in applying Linked Open Data in making cultural historical sources available and we connect with the societal importance of providing these collections in a usable manner.

Regional Museum Krimpenerwaard gets started with Atlantis – fully NDE compatible

Regional Museum Krimpenerwaard is the center for cultural heritage in the region. As you walk onto the grounds, you feel transported to a world 100 years ago. Along a path surrounded by apple trees, you walk past the polishing shed, the wagon shed, and the haystack to the 17th-century monumental farmhouse of the ‘hallehuis’ type.

Regional Museum Krimpenerwaard has chosen Atlantis Collection Management Lite for managing and publishing the collection. This moment has been seized to offer the collection fully usable, according to the guidelines of the Digital Heritage Network (NDE). The Acceleration Scheme has been utilized, which provides financial support from the NDE for the transition to Atlantis.

This acceleration scheme means that a one-time financial contribution can be requested from the Digital Heritage Network. This can be used to upgrade an existing collection management system to apply Linked Open Data. This scheme can also be used for migration to a system that meets the NDE compatibility points. In this case, it is even possible for the full migration costs to be reimbursed.

New website for Municipality of Oldenzaal

The Municipality of Oldenzaal has just launched its new genealogy website. This website features a beautiful search function that allows you to easily find all information about records, registers, and individuals. The website is fully in line with the municipality’s house style and offers various search options.

“We are satisfied with the implementation process. The conversion was carried out in a short time frame, and the publication environment was aligned with our municipal house style. The search and presentation options for our genealogical collection have been expanded. We have experienced the collaboration with DEVENTit as pleasant. Audax launches its own page on the website of the Association of Business and History

Audax has recently launched its page on the website of the Association of Business and History. The goal of the Association of Business & History (VBH) is to bring together companies that possess a business historical collection and are working to preserve these collections. Meanwhile, they have already added many big names to their membership list. On Audax’s page, you can read about the history and get an idea of this rich collection.

Audax is an independent media company that is engaged in publishing, distributing, and retailing literature and related products in a broad sense. The company has its main office in Gilze, as well as locations in Amsterdam and Turnhout, and has branches of AKO, Bruna, and ReadShop throughout the Netherlands. BookSpot is also part of Audax.
