For years, the archives of sports clubs were the domain of that one enthusiastic volunteer with a well-stocked attic. But times are changing. Even these types of clubs realize that their history is an essential part of their brand and club culture.

SV Kampong, the largest multi-sport club in the Netherlands, is now taking the step towards full professionalization. The club will manage its extensive collection in Atlantis.
The choice of Kampong is not an isolated one, but relates to a growing challenge in the sports world. It is no longer just about simply preserving items, but about effectively unlocking them. How do you ensure that one historical photo can be found within three seconds? AI in practice: How Pon enriches the collection with AI data in Atlantis

As the largest car importer in the Netherlands for brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, and SKODA, Pon is one of the key players in the Dutch automotive industry. They manage their rich history and extensive corporate archive in Atlantis. To elevate this archive to an even higher level, they have realized a wonderful project: enriching the collection with the power of AI.

What does this project entail? Pon has an AI tool analyze specific fields within the archive. This tool sees details and patterns that we humans sometimes miss. The results of these “extra eyes” are directly placed in Atlantis via a smart import routine. This way, Pon’s collection is not only expanded but also significantly strengthened, enriched, and made more searchable.

This project proves that Atlantis is the foundation for modern integrations. The main advantages summarized:

How FEHAC contributes to unlocking mobile heritage with Atlantis

The new platform for mobile heritage is officially live, namely www.mobielecollectie.nl. This platform, created on behalf of the Mobile Collection Netherlands Foundation (MCN), is the national main stage where all mobile, sailing, and flying heritage is visible in one place.

FEHAC is responsible for the contribution of road heritage. This does not only refer to historical cars, but also to old mopeds, caravans, buses, and tractors, for example. With an enormous database of more than 1 million historical road vehicles, FEHAC delivers a performance within the heritage world that is unique in scale and scope.

FEHAC uses Atlantis not only for their own management but has created a powerful platform where, in addition to (car) clubs, other organizations, such as the Handcart Museum, can seamlessly connect. FEHAC thus serves as the digital gateway for the ‘Road’ sector.
Through the smart use of technology and the use of RDW data, FEHAC manages an enormous flow of information. The result? Those more than one million records from FEHAC are flawlessly presented from Atlantis on the MCN platform.

𝗗𝗔𝗙 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁
In addition to the enormous mass of FEHAC, the DAF Museum shows what is technically possible within Atlantis. They make their iconic collection available on this platform via Linked Open Data and therefore work according to the new standards within the heritage world.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲
As one of the four pillars of the MCN (alongside Air, Rail, and Water), FEHAC ensures that road heritage receives the attention it deserves. The reason they tackle this on such a large scale via Atlantis is simple:
𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: By pooling resources in the National Register of Mobile Heritage, the history of our vehicles becomes findable and tangible for everyone in the Netherlands.
𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵: Thanks to the structure in Atlantis, various participants can connect to the FEHAC platform in Atlantis. This creates a complete and rich picture of the history of Dutch mobility.
𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: The combination of RDW data and the flexibility of Atlantis provides an information source of unprecedented value for both enthusiasts and researchers.

We are proud that Atlantis is the technical engine that unlocks this enormous data flow. The collaboration with FEHAC proves that our platform has the scalability and stability to flawlessly connect collections of this size to national platforms.

Digital security central during upcoming thematic session DEVENTit

At the initiative of the board of the Atlantis User Group, we are organizing a digital session on Tuesday, June 2, with the theme Grip on data security. This topic is not just on the agenda; as a manager of irreplaceable archives and museum collections, you protect much more than just digital files. You preserve our collective memory, and that irreplaceable character makes digital security more relevant than ever. In a world where international influences and the rise of AI make cyber threats increasingly sophisticated, a wait-and-see attitude is no longer sufficient. We must not only know that we store data but also how we can permanently secure it against the risks of tomorrow.

The board of the User Group therefore finds it essential to proactively engage in this conversation with us. During this afternoon, the focus will be on the safety of your data within the Atlantis environment: we will clarify how security is organized at DEVENTit, but we will also honestly look at the risks that you as a user need to consider. The goal is not only to inform you but to take control together over the protection of your unique collections.

DEVENTit present with a booth at the Archive Congress 2026

On Monday, June 22, we will be present as an exhibitor at the Archive Congress 2026 at the Orpheus in Apeldoorn. This year’s theme is: Right to access information; a given? The program explores the vulnerability of the democratic rule of law and the influence of governments and third parties on the availability of information. It will address the importance of public values and the necessity for information professionals to maintain control over data processes and societal narratives.
