Review of Atlantis User Meeting

On Tuesday, November 19, the Atlantis User Meeting took place. Participants could join this meeting both physically and online. We were hosted at the Sponsorhome of football club IJsselmeervogels in Bunschoten-Spakenburg. We would like to thank the participants for attending the session. We look back on a pleasant session.

DEVENTit is in the final stages of the basic version of Atlantis 7. During the meeting, DEVENTit elaborated on the implementation process for the Atlantis users. It was explained in what order users can transition to Atlantis 7 and what options are available for support from DEVENTit. In addition to this agenda item, there were announcements from the board, the roadmap for Atlantis was presented, and new Atlantis users were introduced. Participants also had the opportunity to bring up their own topics for joint discussion.

We had the pleasure of receiving Thomas van Maaren from Stichting WO2net / Network War Sources as a guest speaker. Thomas spoke about the Network War Sources and the opportunities to collaborate on the network of War Sources.

Museum Spakenburg publishes collection online

Museum Spakenburg is currently working on digitally unlocking its objects. The collection includes more than 8,000 objects, of which only a small part is on display in the museum. Thanks to Atlantis, more and more of this collection is being made available online, significantly increasing the museum’s reach. This digitization makes the collection accessible to everyone interested in the cultural heritage of the municipality of Bunschoten. Visitors can now experience the rich history of Spakenburg both physically and online. Additionally, connections have been made through Atlantis with national collection platforms such as www.zuiderzeecollectie.nl and www.collectienederland.nl.

Team DEVENTit visits the iconic SS Rotterdam

In November, the team from DEVENTit had an inspiring experience aboard the iconic SS Rotterdam. During a tour, dinner, and overnight stay on this historic ship, we were able to closely experience a piece of heritage to which we contribute indirectly. The Stichting Vrienden van Stoomschip Rotterdam, which is dedicated to preserving the ship and its associated collections, uses Atlantis to manage these collections. It was special to explore the ship together with the team, guided by our contact person from the foundation. For our employees, who approach heritage primarily from a software perspective, this outing provided a valuable insight into the tangible side of our work. It made us even more aware of the role that Atlantis plays in the preservation of cultural heritage. National Strategy for Digital Heritage published

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Network Digital Heritage presented the National Strategy Digital Heritage 2025-2028 last week. Every four years, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Network Digital Heritage review the National Strategy Digital Heritage and the network agenda. Are the challenges and goals still relevant? For this update, input was gathered from the heritage field in continental Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.

The National Strategy Digital Heritage aims to make digital heritage more accessible to everyone. This way, people and communities can experience this heritage in a way that suits them. To make this possible, work is being done step by step on a digital infrastructure. This is a collection of agreements, standards, and facilities that can connect various types of heritage. The National Strategy provides direction in this regard. It has been developed in close collaboration between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and all heritage stakeholders united in the Network Digital Heritage.

Certification of DEVENTit for sustainable entrepreneurship extended again

We are proud to announce that the ISO 14001 certification of DEVENTit has been extended again.
