Archive management system for the municipality of Venlo

The municipal archive of Venlo collects and manages documents that show the history of the municipality and its residents. The municipal archive makes this rich history available, in word and image, tangible and online.
After a tender process, the decision was made to house the complete archive collection in Atlantis. Before this decision was made, the municipality of Venlo was already using an Image Bank module from Atlantis. In 2022, the delivery, data migration, and implementation took place, which was completed in early 2023. In Atlantis, the data is made available to users via a public portal. The archive management system contributes to streamlining operations and reduces the time investment involved in managing archive files. Thanks to depot management, it is possible to search directly for where an archive item is stored. Among others, the following modules have been successfully implemented: Archive and inventory management, depot management, request registration, and scanning on demand.

Webinar Atlantis for Corporate Collections replay

Earlier this month, we held a webinar with the theme
‘Managing and presenting corporate historical collections’. More and more companies are paying attention to corporate historical collections. The history of a company is a valuable tool to understand their past, define identity, and shape the future. At the same time, there are various opportunities for companies to use this history. In this webinar, we explored these opportunities and provided various tips that can help to map and utilize this collection.

Literary treasure chamber brings everything about writers together in one place

The Literature Museum will offer one central place to provide information about an author starting this summer. On literaturearchive.nl, it will soon be possible to be referred to other institutions that publish linked open data. This creates a place where you can view information about Theun de Vries from various institutions or be directed to the right archive or library to find the desired information. It is important that the information always remains with the source institution and is improved or expanded there; then this updated information will automatically appear in the portal. The infrastructure for literaturearchive.nl is built based on Atlantis.
